VES Successfully Completes Hex-Chrome Decontamination contract at Watervliet Arsenal

In September 2022 Veteran Equipment Systems and Sales (VES) had the privilege of being awarded a large-scale Hexavalent Chromium Decontamination Project for U.S. Army Watervliet Arsenal, Watervliet, NY. The project consisted of more than 150,000 sq/ft depot facility to be decontaminated of Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI) with monthly follow-ups for continued monitoring. Project also included VES’ Dust Migration Mapping (DMM) service for examining and continuous tracking of CrVI within the work process and rest areas. This contract was successfully completed in August of 2023 with exceptional results!

Highlights as reported from the Contractor Performance Assessment Report (CPAR) include:

  • “Contractor was successful in removing the Chome-6 contamination from the work areas.”
  • “Contractor was satisfactory in meeting the schedule.”
  • “The Contractor’s interaction with the Government was overall satisfactory.”
  • “The Contractor complied with all contract clause requirements.”
  • “The contractor complied with the reporting requirements of the contract.”
  • “The contractor complied with the quality assurance surveillance plan.”

Contract Specialist’s Recommendation:

“Given what I know today about the contractor’s ability to perform in accordance with this contract….I would recommend them for similar requirements in the future.”
